The truth is, Hiroshima is not an anomaly. It's a prototype.

Hiroshima wasn’t some tragic exception, a one-time “necessary evil” to end a war. It was a demonstration of imperial logic: a spectacular act of power meant to send a message, not just to Japan, but to the entire world: we will annihilate to maintain supremacy. The US didn’t “reluctantly” drop the bomb. They chose a non-white, already-defeated nation to test the most destructive weapon ever created. They turned civilians into a lab experiment, a geopolitical performance.

Since then, the pattern has repeated; sometimes with bombs, sometimes with sanctions, coups, invasions, drones, economic warfare and proxy (Israel). Always justified; always “for freedom.” Always on the Global South.

Hiroshima was the prototype of a modern colonial violence that disguises itself as progress. The same logic that builds nuclear arsenals also builds border walls, funds proxy wars, and turns Gaza into rubble while talking about “self-defense.”

Hiroshima is not the past. It’s the instruction manual.
